Compton rapper, YG, has revealed a jaw-dropping revelation in his new single, “2004”. In the single, which was released March 28, 2024, he revealed that he was raped at 14 years old by his girlfriend’s 30-year old aunt.
“When I was young, I got r*ped by a bitch twice my age
Picked me up from school to meet at hers and got laid
Ever since that day, I never looked at shit the same”
The lyrics have stunned fans and the industry, and have brought to the forefront trauma that is experienced by young males, but that is often disregarded and overlooked in their communities.
In the song, which features Buddy, and The Gang, YG goes into detail about his experience and how it has shaped him into the man he is today. He said he did not know what to do so he spoke to his friends about it, and they did not see a problem with it and thought it was “exotic”.
“Okay, now back when I was at juvie and sht Got used for the dck, I ain’t even know what to do with the btch Confused a bit Her niece, I went to school with the btch
My school’s loose, who got the tools to fix?
So I went to the homies and we talked about it
They thought exotic
That was they only thoughts about it”
He then recounts breaking up with the niece and continuing to see the aunt, not realizing until later that what he had experienced was not considered normal… :
“A btch took advantage of me, I ain’t got no trust A btch took advantage of me, I ain’t give no fcks At fourteen years old, I got my dck sucked
At fourteen years old, I got my dck fcked
The ho was thirty years old and I never told
Was dating her niece when it happened, it was wearin’ on my soul
I ain’t wanna spill the tea, so I just let her go
‘Cause me and the auntie kept f*ckin’ for sure
And oh, one day, I feel like this was too much
I knew this wasn’t regular as I grew up”
He then described a s*xual act that the aunt told him to perform on her that made him throw up…
This is so sad and shocking…
Shout out to YG for having the guts to finally “spill the tea” about his horrible experience in a song, and hopefully the “auntie” will be publicly shamed for the rest of her life. Unfortunately, it may not be ever brought to full justice if he never presses charges, but at least now the world knows and can understand his character better as an artist.
This song also serves as a reminder to check on your kids for any signs of changes in their behavior, and to ask them questions to get down to the bottom of what is going on with them.
Protect our youth.
