NLE Choppa Don’t Wanna Be Homies or Friends in “Do It Again” [Music Video]

Memphis hip hop artist, NLE Choppa, released a new song called “Do It Again” featuring Philly native, 2Rare, on October 7, 2022. This upbeat fast-paced song has a lot of playful energy in it, but also comes with some painful words attached to it.

The lyrics in question are:

“Don’t wanna be homies, don’t wanna be friends (you abandoned me)

B*tch, I’m in love, won’t get me again

Where’s my heart? Gone in the wind

Pack yo’ bags and leave my keys (keys like a memory)

Lil’ baby you act like you know you was wrong (you abandoned me)

You lyin’, watch yo tone

I’m too fine to be so alone…”

As 19-year old NLE Choppa’s fans and most mainstream hip hop fans of his age range are aware, he recently broke up with 26-year old influencer, Marissa Da’Nae. She took the breakup really hard and went online crying to the world in an emotional video here, reposted by Hollywood Unlocked IG:

NLE Choppa later addressed people who were making fun of his ex on Twitter with this statement defending her.

He also went even further and uploaded a video “clearing the air” to his YouTube saying how he cried a few times and that his ex was “a lovely woman” and the “sweetest kindest”, but that he basically was not ready.

So for the lyrics to come out that way in the new single, it has us all wondering just who was he referring to, because he was obviously not referring to Marissa (unless we missed something), but he was clearly referring to someone out there…and he does not want to be homies or friends with them!

In any case, the beat is so catchy and upbeat that we added it to the Bussin Buss It Birthday Songs playlist. It will also be on an upcoming playlist we have coming out, called “Gotta Move On”.
