On January 22, 2022, a lyricist by the name of KeyIce, released her first 3 spoken word singles, dedicated to her three children. The tracks were entitled, “The Day That Justice Was Named”, “Skin Color and Racism Age 7”, and “Phenomenal Daughter”, which touched on the injustices of the social justice system, gender bias, skin color, and racism. On April 10, 2022, she later released her fourth single, in the form of an R&B song, called “Buss It Birthday Song”.
In February 2022, “Phenomenal Daughter“, was featured on Now HipHop News new song releases, receiving over 7500 views. By May of 2022, she was ranked among the top 250,000 artists in the United States by top music analytics source, Chart Metric, used by executives from top leading entertainment industry powerhouses, such as Universal Music Group, Sony Music, BMG, Warner Music Group, Live Nation, and Netflix.
She has emphasized on her Instagram and Spotify artist page that her goal is not to become a known singer or performing artist, but that she would like to be known as a lyricist that will be sought out to write lyrics for R&B, Hip Hop, and Pop genres.
A native of Ohio, currently based in San Antonio, TX, she has a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems from The University of Texas at San Antonio, some IT certifications, and continues to advance in her full-time career in Information Technology. Music is her passion and her hobby, as she is utilizing her specialized technical skills to merge music and tech, to create NFTs and create blockchain assets for musicians in the industry.
Although new to the industry as an artist herself, KeyIce is far from new to the music industry. CEO of top urban entertainment internet promotions and branding company, HomeBase Promotions, she has been in the entertainment field since in 2005. She is also Lead Playlist Curator for our very own HomeBase Radio.
Her latest single is a spoken word jazz, called, “Mother Nature is Love, So is GOD“, which was released on January 13, 2023.
She is the first African American woman in the field of Information Technology to ever own her own online entertainment promotions company and become a songwriter/lyricist.
