Mariah Carey Receives Her First Ever BET Award in 2025: Ultimate Icon Award

Congratulations to the legendary R&B/Pop songstress, Mariah Carey, on receiving her first ever BET Award at the 25th BET Awards ceremony. 

She was a good sport about it as she acknowledged the achievement in her acceptance speech: 

“I heard this is actually my first BET Award… And..Yes! 

…And I mean, if you’re gonna get one, might as well start with the Ultimate Icon Award!”

Earlier in the night, she performed her newly released single, “Type Dangerous”, at the awards. The single was released on Friday and is currently #4 on the iTunes R&B chart and debuted in the 20th spot globally across all genres on Spotify.
