Chicago’s renowned and well-respected DJ & WGCI radio personality, Sean Mac of Heavy Hitters DJ’s, has spoken out after a viral incident involving Yung Miami this past weekend where he was a featured DJ at a Miami nightclub. Yung Miami had been promoting her new single

Although he is the DJ that most people and even Yung Miami herself assumed was DJ’ing during an early set that evening, he was not…
Let’s backtrack, for those that don’t know what went down…
While in attendance at a popular Miami nightclub during Miami Race Week while at one of Meek Mill’s birthday celebrations, Yung Miami had an outburst at a DJ for the music he was playing.
In a viral moment captured on a video shared by Dr Shah Photography, Yung Miami was seen on microphone, interrupting the DJ as G. Herbo’s “Went Legit” was playing:
“It’s 2026, the club lit but the music is f***in trash. You need to turn this b*tch up.”
When the DJ proceeded to play Big Boogie’s “BOP”, she stopped him, telling him no – he should be playing Bossman Dlow or somebody. The DJ began to play a Bossman Dlow song, and she interrupted him yet again, this time to address a partygoer who was apparently leaving, and she then continued on, saying, “I’m bout to DJ this b*tch myself…
…This right here is not it. I’m not gon lie.”
After realizing that she had gone viral, facing public backlash, and seeing DJ’s and other industry professionals across the nation siding with the DJ, Yung Miami issued a public apology in her Instagram story on Monday, May 4th, tagging DJ Sean Mac:
”We was in Miami, I was in the spur of the moment, you know, just tryna get lit. Tryna turn the party up. Yall know I’m a fun girl, I was just genuinely tryna have a good time. The video took place, umm. And I just wanna send a publicly apology to Sean Mac…”
Many DJ’s like the world famous Kid Capri and others took to social media to comment about the video, citing that it did not appear to be genuine, and that she only apologized because she has been promoting her new single.

However, Sean Mac later revealed that same day in a Facebook post, stating that he was not actually the DJ she had been referring to that night:
“Yung Miami wasn’t talking to me lol… What’s crazy is I had just plugged my computer in. I wasn’t on yet for real…
She was talking about the other Dj that was on before me… he was pissing her off.
I just so happened to be standing there when she pulled that stunt 🤣”
In response to HomeBase Radio blogger KeyIce’s question about who the other DJ was, he replied:
“I didn’t know him. That was my 1st time meeting him. He was a cool guy tho. He was gone not long after I started Djing.”
Despite Yung Miami’s mixup, the moment has brought to light the disconnect that exists between artists and DJ’s, and between DJ’s and partygoers, as many partygoers that evening had sided with Yung Miami on the music selections of the other DJ. Upcoming Baltimore artist, J. Gambino, particularly had a strong opinion regarding the night.
Stay tuned for more on that conversation during HomeBase Promotions’ R.E.P. My Block Show, hosted by KeyIce and Grandmastar Bass Monstar.
