On Friday, July 25th, Detroit rapper 42 Dugg shared a book that was recently published by his son, D’aire, and his son’s mother, to help families better understand and navigate through the challenges of autism. D’aire is on the autism spectrum and was nonverbal until the age of six years old.

The book is called “My Kind of Normal”, and is available for purchase at beamingbrains.org.
Great job D’aire and Mom!
Shout out to 42 Dugg for supporting his son and sharing a book that will assist families in understanding the impact that autism has on families.

42 Dugg’s statement on social media was heartfelt:
“My kind of Normal written by Daire dealing with autistic children can be such ah challenge for us parents especially first time parents but we have no idea the challenges these children face not being able to fully express themselves ,so him and his mom decided that they’ll put something kid friendly for kids an parents whom may face these similar challenges if you support me or not an have dealt with or came across ah autistic child just share this book an try to learn how to ease up an let them develop at there own pace Let’s keep this fight going Daire we love you we support…”
Although criticized for grammatical and spelling errors on his post, the message was achieved and hopefully will reach families that need it.
