Basketball player turned rapper, LiAngelo Ball, who goes by the stage name, G3 Gelo, has a #1 trending song on YouTube. It’s his debut single, “Tweaker”, and it’s a viral success.
The breakout song dropped on Jan 3, 2025 and already has over 3.6 million views on YouTube under WorldStarHipHop’s channel. It was released under his Born to Ball Music Group, and has 1.3 million streams on Spotify. The song is listed on Apple Music under the artist name, “Ball Brothers”.
LiAngelo is the middle brother of the 3 Ball brothers. He is LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets’ older brother, and Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball’s younger brother. Although he did also play basketball in high school and college, his NBA career has not taken off as well as it did for his brothers.
However, that is okay, because there is always music.
The song brings back some nostalgia from the early 2000’s musical era, with a bouncy yet mellow “dirty south” style beat, that was produced by Ball himself. Think Juvenile from Hot Boys. Something like that.
The instant success of the song has artists like Moneybagg Yo and Boosie Badazz requesting an open verse to hop on the track.
LiAngelo has been confirmed as an artist that will perform at the 2025 Rolling Loud music festival in California this March, which will headline A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, and Peso Pluma.
His other song, “9 Ball”, was released the same day, and has not been as popular, garnering under 1,000 plays on Spotify.
“Tweaker” has been placed on our HomeBase Radio “Sports Hype Hop” playlist on Spotify. Check it out below:
